Podolski pleads for central Arsenal role ahead of Walcott

The Germany international has often been deployed on the left flank since his move from Koln in the summer but, like his team-mate, is hoping to become the attack's focal point 

Lukas Podolski has revealed his desire to play in a central striking role for Arsenal.

Since his arrival from Koln in the summer, the forward has generally been deployed on the left wing, with fellow attacker Theo Walcott currently stalling over a new contract after voicing a similar request.
